About
Nina Tuxbury is a recent graduate of the Purchase College film conservatory. She grew up in upstate New York with her parents, her younger sister, and several cats. She is drawn to telling stories about interpersonal relationships in families with a focus on grief, loss, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Aside from writing and directing, Nina has found her calling in post-production, with an interest in assistant editing. She is highly organized and technologically astute when it comes to the post-production workflow with various editing programs. Her first love is Avid Media Composer, but Nina is skilled in Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve, as well. Her strong creative eye aids her organizational and technological skills as she collaborates with directors and editors with the aim of serving the story, characters, and themes of each piece she works on.
Along with her interest in post-production, Nina strives to foster an accessible environment in film. Throughout her time at Purchase College, Nina advocated for open captions for her class’s end of year screenings which resulted in accessible screenings for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals in attendance. Nina plans to continue this advocacy post-graduation.
